Location & History
The Claryville Reformed Church, a member of the Reformed Church in America, is nestled between two mountains on the border of the Catskill Preserve – quaint, rural, and serene, yet only two-and-a-half hours from the Greater New York Metropolitan area. Established in 1849, the Claryville Reformed Church has played an important role in the life of this community for over 175 years.
Once a center for the tanning and lumber industries, Claryville today honors its history and today has a vibrant artistic community.. The residents care deeply about each other, their rural lifestyle and mountain environment they share. Our congregation includes year round residents who are artists, weekenders and summer residents.
Congregation
Our congregation resides in Claryville and the neighboring towns of Denning, Oliveria, Grahamsville, and Neversink. We are the only church from Curry to Oliveria or from the Neversink Reservoir and the entire length of the East and West branch of the Neversink River.
We are passionate about our mission “Serving God in our community and beyond.” We are a strong group of individuals who are an inclusive, caring and innovative congregation. Fellowship is enjoyed after worship service each Sunday at a coffee hour.
